Samsung sued in US and China over touch technology

However, Samsung “continued to include the haptic feedback technology covered by the patents in its new products” and sells them. Immersion said it has caused “substantial damage” to them. Immersion also requested that the court temporarily, preliminarily, and permanently enjoin Samsung from continuing to produce and distribute the infringing products.

China’s science academy plans tech patent auctions

The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has selected a portfolio of 932 patents for its first patent auction. Sui Xueqing, head of the center, said the auctions would increase the use of national-level science and technology resources in the economy. He said that the patents were selected from those obtained by 104 institutes and 89 national labs affiliated with the academy.
